Man and Society at SWUIC ( individual final assignment)

 In Man and Society at SWUIC with Bruce this term I learned many beneficial things!!!

  First topic I learned about Class Rules. I think there are too many rules in this course and some rules isn’t necessary such as material 2 blue, 2 black, 2 red pens. For other rules I think it’s OK. Amazing thing I learned in first class is LGBT. I never knew before about LGBT stand for. LGBT stands for lesbian gay biosexual transgender. And there are many things that I learned about myth and abbreviation words for LGBT. For first time teacher taught so fast because I didn’t understand some words and some sentences.

   I learned about media and society. I knew that nowadays media is very important and powerful. Media impact to dairy life. From you get up in the morning until the time you go to bed. You can get information and news from mass media. Media impact many thing such as audience, money , culture , ect. This class has some quizzes about LGBT and society. And has activity about famous LGBT. 

 
  The new thing that I learn is ethics. Teacher give me watching movie about Shattered glass. The story is about  journalist who made up the story because he wants to be famous journalist. And I learned about the theories of ethics including Egoism , Utilitarianism , Categorical , Self evident , Justice ,Golden mean , Divine will , Dialogic , and Different voice.

  Moreover before midterm exam I learned about 21^st century. It has critical thinking , Information technology application , collaboration , innovation ,diversity , ect. I learned many skill that employers want when you apply a job in the future. Teacher gave me an activity about egg drop. This activity taught me how to solve the problem, creativity ,and collaboration.

  The project I did before midterm exam is Youtube project. Teacher give me to make video about LGBT. My group choose the topic about homophobia because I think nowadays the world accept with LGBT more than the past so you shouldn’t bully or look down people who are LGBT . The things that I gave from this project are I know how to work together in my group , I know  how to solve a problem that happen in my group. The important things is I understand about LGBT better than the past.

   After midterm exam, I learned about Art. Teacher teach me what is art and stylistic periods that are Renaissance , Baroque , Impressionism and post-impressionism , Expressionism , Surrealism , Master of Many 20th Century Styles , and Pop art. Moreover I knew about famous artist that I have never known before. Teacher took me to BACC and I learned  exhibition named Unseen Siam Early Photograph 1860-1910. I saw many pictures that I have never seen. 

 

   Next class, I learned about consumerism and watch video about the story of stuff. I knew about social responsibility that everyone should have and about globalization that change behavior of people nowadays. Today many things don't like the past. Many thing involve with technology. It is very easy to do many things. This class I learned how to complain about something wrong.

    Moreover I learned the new thing about religion. I knew origin of each religion, founder of each religion , major symbols , terms to know of each religion , location that people respect and prohibit of each religion. There are many religion I learned including Buddhism , Christianity, Confucianism, Hinduism, Jainism, Judiasm, Shinto, Sikhism, Islam and Tao. Although there are many religion in the world , every religion have purpose to teach every people to be good people.

   For activities, I do many activities in this course such as LGBT activity is about history of famous gay and their success , Youtube project that I learned about homophobia better, BACC exhibition , observation other people that I never known, review restaurant and law complaint. 

 Moreover I did the blind taste test activity. It is good for me to do these activities because some activities I have never done before. I did a lot of new things. Teacher is very kind.

Cons in this course

-          -When teacher give me an assignment, teacher doesn’t tell assignment clearly. That make me don’t understand about work assignment.

-         - Some lecture , teacher tell very fast and change powerpoint slide so fast. I can not jot down that you say.

-        

 "How has this course made me a better person?"

    Man & Society with Bruce made me a better person. This course taught me shouldn’t look down to people who are LGBT. It has some myth about LGBT that you should understand.

    Media & society make me know about the revolution of media and teach me that I can use media for learn , for work , for relax or for buy something. I will use media in good and right way.

   Ethics teach me that I should have moral and don’t lie other people because if you lie , someday people will know the truth. Every occupation want  moral people to collaborate.

   21th century make me know the skill that I want to have for apply a good job in the future. These things make me more understand about skills for the 21th century. And this course make me solve the problem and work with other people better than past. 

   Art make me know about artist and some  famous art work. This class make me relax when I drew a picture that I want to draw. And I know that everything around me is art whether it be design of table, building, music or acting.

   Consumerism make me know social responsibility. I think every people must have civic duty to make society better. And  when I see something wrong , I will lodge to complaint about that.

   Religion make me know each of religion has different but every religion teach to be good person.And when I go to work or travel other country I have to behave properly.
